ESOS and your business - how to comply

It is still not too late to comply with ESOS. Utilitas is here to help!

The 5th December deadline for businesses to notify the Environment Agency of their compliance with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) has now come and gone. If you have missed it, however, it is still not too late to send over your Intent to Comply and begin building a more cost-effective energy consumption plan.

The Environment Agency has stated that it will “not normally” sanction undertakings which have failed to comply with the deadline. The cut-off point for your Intent to Comply has been extended to the 29th January 2016, meaning that there is still time to notify the Environment Agency of your willingness to comply with the new scheme.

What should your next steps be? If you are yet to submit your Intent to Comply, you must act immediately. If you do not think you will be compliant by 29th January, you can avoid a substantial fine by sending the following information to the Environment Agency

1. Company information - full list of required information available here
2. An explanation for why you won’t be compliant by 29th January 2016 (if applicable)
3. Who your ESOS Lead Assessor is

Utilitas Solutions is on-hand to offer our expertise in completing this process. We will be able to provide you with an ESOS Lead Assessor, who will analyse your current consumption plan and notify you on how to create a better, more cost-effective one. Contact us today to start the process!
